Sodium polyacrylate

POLYNIL HP
Sodium polyacrylate

Sodium polyacrylate with a linear structure or polynyl HP is a sodium salt of polyacrylic acid and is known as a moisture trap. As a liquid chemical homopolymer, it is a cleaning, dispersing, dissolving, viscosifying, softening and wetting agent. It is a non-toxic, environmentally friendly material with high mechanical and thermal resistance and a lower polymer weight than CP polynil.

Applications and uses of sodium polyacrylate

  1. Detergent and cleaning productsDetergents and cleansing products: Polynil HP is a versatile ingredient commonly used in detergents and cleansing products. It acts as a dispersant, thickener, preservative, solvent, lubricant, buffer, and chelating agent. One of its benefits is its ability to enhance the cleansing power of products by binding to elements that contribute to water hardness, such as magnesium, calcium, iron, and zinc. This results in improved detergent performance and eliminates unpleasant odors by neutralizing heavy metals, pollutants, and other substances present in the washing process. Polynil HP is a popular ingredient in laundry detergents, bleaches, stain removers, and shower gels. Its dispersing properties also prevent sedimentation on surfaces and fibers, inhibiting the growth of crystals and preventing the buildup of Carbonates, Phosphates, and Silicates.
  2. Cosmetics: This material is commonly used in cosmetic products as a solubilizer, dispersant, cleanser, and chelating agent. Its properties allow for the creation of a soft and uniform texture, which in turn improves the diffusion of the products on the skin.
  3. Agriculture industry: Sodium Polyacrylate is commonly utilized in the agriculture industry as a solubilizing agent, chelating agent, emollient, and dispersant. Its stabilizing and dispersing properties make it a valuable additive in the production of fertilizers and chemical pesticides. By effectively absorbing these materials, it enhances their overall performance.
  4. Water and sewage industryWater and waste-water industry: Due to having many carboxylate groups in its structure, Sodium Polyacrylate has a strong ability to chelate metal ions, forming complexes with calcium, iron, and other metals. This property allows it to prevent the sedimentation of these ions on metal equipment and devices. In many industrial wastewater streams, there are harmful metal ions that can pose a threat to human health and the environment. However, by utilizing Sodium Polyacrylate, these heavy metals can be effectively trapped and removed from the water before they are released into nature.
  5. Oil, gas, and petrochemicals: Polynil HP is a versatile polymer that serves as a solvent, dispersant, chelating and foaming agent in the gas, oil, and petrochemical industries. When incorporated into drilling fluids, this polymer enhances the drilling process and yields superior results.
  6. Textile industry: Sodium Polyacrylate used in the textile industry as a dispersant, solvent, and chelating agent.
  7. Other applications: In industrial processes, it is utilized to dissolve soap in water and absorb water molecules. This polymer is also used in fire-retardant gels and for separating oil and water from each other. Polynil HP is used as a dispersing agent in the production of paints and resins. This ingredient causes stability, which prolongs the shelf life of products.

Features and benefits of polyneal HP

Chelating agent: Sodium Polyacrylate acts as a chelating agent, bonding with iron, copper, and other heavy metal ions, preventing them from binding. This compound finds applications in a wide range of products, including cosmetics, detergents, cleansers, textiles, agricultural pesticides, and in the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries.

Stabilizer: Sodium Polyacrylate with a linear structure helps to stabilize the emulsion, preventing it from separating into different phases. This ingredient maintains the uniformity of the product and preserves its appearance over time.

Dispersing agent: Polynil HP is used as a dispersing agent in various products such as cosmetics, cleansers, textiles, agricultural pesticides, and in the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries.

Thickening agent: Sodium Polyacrylate is a well-known thickening agent. This compound has the ability to absorb and retain water molecules, increasing the viscosity of water-based compounds. It enhances stability, making it an ideal material in products such as hair gels and soaps.

Solvent: Polynil HP is used as a dissolving agent in various industries, such as cosmetics, textiles, cleansers and detergents, agricultural pesticides, and in the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries.

Emollient: Sodium Polyacrylate with a linear structure acts as an emollient in agricultural pesticides.

Cleanser: Polynil HP is used as a cleansing agent in cosmetic products. It enhances the cleansing ability of products by binding to water-hardness elements, such as calcium, magnesium, iron, and zinc.
