Maleic Acrylic Copolymer

POLYNIL CP

Acrylic Maleic Copolymer or Polynyl CP made of acrylic acid and maleic acid is a high molecular weight copolymer in liquid form, colorless to yellow. It is used in household and industrial detergents, dyeing, adhesives, water purification, agricultural pesticides, textiles, oil, gas and petrochemicals. This is a powerful dispersant, a strong chelator of heavy metal ions and soil alkalinity, preventing the return of stains and precipitation of water hardness ions on fabric fibers, non-toxic, compatible with the skin and the environment.

Applications of Maleic Acrylic Copolymer

  1. Detergent and cleaning products: Maleic acrylic copolymer acts as a chelating and dispersing agent in detergent and cleaning products. Polynyl CP is able to absorb metal ions such as calcium and magnesium, which may prevent its creation in the process. Maleic acrylic copolymer also prevents the accumulation of pus and stain particles and prevents them from returning to the tissue. For this reason, it gives the efficiency of detergents such as dishwashing powders and laundry powders based on zeolite.
  2. Addictive in adhesives and sealants: Polynil CP can be used as an addictive in adhesives and sealants to improve adhesion, cohesion, and flexibility. This compound helps to increase the strength of adhesives and sealants for a variety of surfaces, including metals, plastics, and wood. It also contributes to the elasticity and durability of sealant formulations.
  3. Water and waste-water treatment processes: Maleic Acrylic Copolymer can be used in water treatment processes. Its scale inhabitation property effectively prevents the formation of mineral salts, such as calcium carbonate and calcium phosphate, in cooling water systems, boilers, and desalination plants. It also acts as a dispersant, improving the dispersion and stability of suspended particles in water.
  4. 2-Dyeing and coatings: Maleic Acrylic Copolymer can be used in dyeing the formulation of coatings and paints. It increases adhesion to the underlying surfaces, improving film formation and contributing to the durability and overall performance of coatings. Polynil CP can be found in architectural coatings, industrial coatings, automotive coatings, and other types of paints.
  5. 4-Paper and pulp industry: Polynil CP is used as a drainage aid in the paper and pulp industry. It enhances the absorption of fine particles during the papermaking process and improves the dewatering of the pulp. This compound is beneficial for enhancing paper quality, increasing production efficiency, and decreasing environmental impact.
  6. Textile industry: Polynil CP is used in the textile industry as a dyeing and printing assistant. It aids in dispersing and fixing dyes in the fibers, resulting in improved shelf life and dye penetration of the paints. Additionally, the Maleic Acrylic Copolymer increases the washability and resistance to fading of dyed textiles.

Properties and benefits of polynil CP

Powerful chelating of heavy metal ions: Chelation refers to the ability of a compound to form stable complexes with metal ions. Polynil CP exhibits chelating properties, which allow it to separate metal ions and prevent their undesired effects, such as catalytic or oxidative reactions.

Scale inhibition and dispersing properties: Maleic Acrylic Copolymer has excellent properties, making it effective in controlling mineral scale formation. It is used in the water treatment process as an anti-scale inhibitor. Its chelating properties improve the stability of formulations.

Capability to be utilized in aquatic systems: Polynil CP is water-soluble, making it suitable for use in aqueous systems.

Versatility: By adjusting the ratio of Acrylic acid to Maleic acid in the copolymerization process, Maleic acrylic copolymer can be utilized in a variety of applications.

High stability: Maleic Acrylic Copolymer has excellent thermal and chemical stability, which contributes to the longevity and performance of the products it is used in. It can endure a variety of pH conditions and is also resistant to degradation when exposed to heat.

Adhesion and film-forming capability: Maleic Acrylic Copolymer can improve adhesion to various surfaces and form strong films when used in coatings and adhesives. Polynil CP contributes to the overall strength, flexibility, and resistance properties of the resulting films.

Compatibility with other additives: Polynil CP is compatible with other additives commonly used in formulations such as paints, fillers, and lubricants. This compatibility facilitates the formulation process and ensures the stability and performance of the final products.

Non-toxic, compatible with the skin and the environment: Polynil CP, as a non-toxic and compatible material with the skin and the environment, is used directly in detergent and cleaning products.
